Ads.Txt: Captify Is Supporting Authorised Inventory Sellers

Are you buying quality, safe and legitimately sold ad inventory? You might be familiar with Ads.txt then.

Captify support ads.txt and we’re actively engaged in supporting it and enforcing this initiative with our buy and sell side partners.

What is ads.txt?

Authorised Digital Sellers, or ads.txt is an IAB initiative that helps ensure that a publisher’s digital ad inventory is only sold through sellers who they’ve authorised. When a publisher creates their own ads.txt file it gives them control over who’s allowed to sell ads on their site and helps prevent counterfeit inventory from being presented to advertisers.

Great, so what have Captify done about it?

Captify supports the ads.txt initiative by partnering with both our buy side and sell side partners to enforce the initiative. Our Media Team have worked closely with publishers industry-wide to encourage the implementation of ads.txt to eradicate domain spoofing, arbitraged inventory and ensure we are only buying legitimately sold, quality inventory on behalf of our clients.

And how’s it going?

The uptake was initially slow however we implemented a deadline for implementation of December 31st 2017, and from that date have ceased to buy inventory from any partners who have not implemented ads.txt.

All of the DSPs we work with support Captify in buying ads.txt certified traffic by allowing filtering of non certified inventory.

Captify are committed to supporting the initiative and are actively engaged with our partners in ensuring this is a success across the eco-system and our advertisers can rest assured that we’re buying from safe and reputable sources.
